About Plitvice Lakes

Plitvice Lakes National Park is Croatia's most visited natural attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Sixteen terraced lakes connected by waterfalls flow through a canyon of karst limestone, with the water shifting between deep blue and vivid turquoise depending on the minerals and the light.

Wooden boardwalks and forest paths take you along and across the lakes at water level. The whole circuit can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on which route you pick.

Entrance 1 is near the lower lakes and the tallest waterfall, Veliki Slap. Entrance 2 is at the upper lakes and is the most popular starting point for the full circuit. If you only have half a day, Entrance 2 gets you to the most scenic section faster. We can drop you at either one.

Reviews for This Route

★★★★★

"Best decision we made was booking a private taxi instead of the bus tour. Driver picked us up at 7am from our hotel in Zadar, waited at the park for 4 hours, then drove us back. No rushing, no crowds on a bus."

"We were a group of 6 and the shuttle van was perfect. Driver dropped us at Entrance 2 and was there waiting when we came out. Cheaper per person than the organised tour buses too."
